The Town of Marshville has a Council-Manager form of government. Under this type of government, department heads report directly to the Town Manager with the Town Manager responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations. The Town Manager hires all department heads.
While the Council serves as the legislative body for the Town, it is the staff, acting under the direct supervision of the department heads, that delivers service to citizens. This translates into a tremendous advantage to the citizens of Marshville. Problems, concerns and questions are responded to very quickly. For example, water service is often obtained within the same hour that a water service application is submitted, provided the application and any required deposit is submitted prior to 4 p.m.
